Although I did manage to dance the night away at a Christmas Ceili for our local hockey club with no problems - which is fab, because I love to dance! It was quite funny because I knew one of the band members (and regretted waving hello by the end of the night!) - the band found out the hard way that hockey players can't count. Alcohol didn't make any difference, cos even the kids were a problem!
"Can we have groups of 6 please?"....
"That's 6 people in a group!" (random groups of 4, 10, 12 start appearing)
They started pointing at people who needed to move.... they pointed at people who needed to stay where they were..... they even sent band members down to physically move people around!
If they'd done their homework, they'd've known that hockey players work on 11+2 subs!
On the plus side - we only needed to be given the instructions once!
Obviously, while I was busy dancing, I was not taking photos, so here's some pics I took in 2012 during Yn Chruinnacht. One of the dancers is one of our hockey players, however I can pretty much guarantee that we did not look this organised! I was under doctor's orders to do swimming, .....so I went down to the pool with a couple of friends and it took 1.5 hours and we only did 20 lengths. I can say "only" because in that time, I should have been able to do 70! I was in agony the next morning, but the doctor said that even though it killed, I had to keep going because it would strengthen my back.
4 days later I went on my own and did 22 lengths in 45 mins.
The next week we did 22 lengths in 1 hour.
Three days later I went on my own and did 24 lengths plus treading water for 15 minutes. I made it a rule that I stopped swimming when my right foot hit the floor when kicking.
My car was playing up, so I dropped it off at the garage and walked home, which was 2 miles, then I had to walk back a couple of days later to pick it up again.
That was about it for January, all in all, an improvement.
